MindManager as an RSS Reader
29 March 2005 Posted By: TrevorPosted in: MindManager, Software Info, Tips / Tricks
I saw this post on the new Mindjet Blog. They talk about how to build a Visual RSS reader. RSS is a useful technology that allows easy syndication of content. I use it for reading my numerous blogs.
I took Mindjet’s example one step further to make it a truly visual mindmap…

29 March 2005 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Blog Related, Tracy's Updates
Hey all, it’s Tracy. Just wanted to share that it’s that second mid-term time of the year for me (wave the pom-poms, it’s fun time), so until the end of next week I probably won’t be posting much.
("I think we need to go on a break. Really, I promise, it’s not you, it’s me…" Hehe, and I’ve actually use that one…)

OrangeGuava for Student Use
24 March 2005 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Other, Software Info
Now that we’ve given away four copies of OrangeGuava, and since I finally have my desktop how I like it, it’s time we let you see what OG is and what it can actually do for you.
OrangeGuava is a complex program, but only because there’s so many ways to use it. The actual idea of it is pretty simple once you get it, so first things first: What IS OrangeGuava?
This program, created by Tom Clarkson, will give you the ability to create multiple, nestable desktops, ink directly onto those desktops, then gives you the option to do things with that ink, such as gestures, send to a program, or do things such as an online search. It’s a bit tricky to get the hang of at first, especially when you add in the gestures and send ink places, but even if you only use it for multiple desktops you’ll get your money’s worth.
Multiple desktops…that’s great, you say, but why would you want it? Good question. Something most people come across when trialing OG is trying to figure out how they can use it productively. After playing around a while you could probably find your own way about things, but here’s my tips for how students in particular can find multiple desktops appealing.

Incredible Skype Experience
21 March 2005 Posted By: TrevorPosted in: Tablet Concepts
Wow, I just had a really amazing skype experience. I got home from a date tonight and saw that someone tried to add me to their contact list. I didn’t know who it was, but I thought, "to hell with it" and accepted them on to my skype list.
About 30 minutes later, my computer rings. I pick up and I find out that the person who called me is a college student from China. Apparently skype has a random chat feature that lets you find a random person. After a little bit of an introduction we then proceeded to have a 40 minute conversation about life, school, relationships, and technology.
