This is just not my day.

by Tracy

I give up.

I had a post (a long post) about my paperless week #1 update almost finished when I apparently ran my finger across the stupid "browser shortcut"  touchpad gesture and that invoked the Back button, losing my enire post. But wait, I did the highlight>>copy trick just incase that happened (wouldn’t be the first time but I didn’t figure out until just now how to disable it). Ctrl+V. Oh look, it didn’t copy. Great. Just great.

This is not my day (there were several other non tech-related things also that I won’t get into here). I’m going to bed.

I’ve been there! I’ve taken to copying entries into WordPad or Scribbler and saving frequently, to save me some heartache. I used to use Blogger’s “Save as Draft” button a lot. Just copying to my clipboard wasn’t working for me, because I’m always copying URLs into my entries. I briefly used an app that let me have multiple items in my clipboard, but it didn’t really work out.

    Congrats on the new site!

Ouch! Been there, done that. No self pats on the back, but you’re in good company.

Yep, done that with forum posts. Not a problem with my blog though as I am forced to generate everything ahead of time.

Are you using IE? Firefox saves your text so that you can go back and then forward an it will not be lost.

The sad part (irony?) is that this post should be read by all library leaders but will not since only a small minority see any value in the blogspace to begin with.
