Dealnews.com has a pretty fantastic deal on a Lenovo X60 Tablet. $851, shipped! It looks like similar units usually retail for around $1500, so this is definitely a good deal.

   Wow, good dealio. My gateway C140 just arrived yesterday, and I think I like it, but it is pretty big and heavy.

   It barely fits in the notebook sleeve in my North Face backpack.

   I just burned two install cds for Visual basic though, so having the burner so handy is definately a plus.

   Oh man this is a pretty good deal!!! Too bad I’m not looking for a new tablet… I’d almost be tempted to buy this for the sake of the good price if I wasn’t a student who knows he should be a bit more realistic with his money.

   Yea, if I had the extra cash, I probably would have traded my almost 3.5 year old M200 in. Alas, I’m still a poor college student.

   They may have had one or two at that price, but there were none there today (2-1). The lowest price I saw was about $1400. Still a great buy on the configuration, but not the real steal price above. I hope that makes you feel better.

   Has anyone got suggestions on what would be the ideal tablet-convertible, non-wide-screen of the moment? The display on my Toshiba M4 has gone crazy and I don’t know whether it’s repairable (tech appt in an hour and a half). And I have to get the dissertation in Friday if I’m to graduate this year, so I’m very unhappy about the timing on this.
