Snapter Competition Winners
19 September 2007 Posted By: RobertPosted in: Contests/Give-aways
Well the results are in and I’d like to announce that the three winners of the Snapter Ice competition are, in no particular order:
- David (Shure SE 210 earphones)
- Ashley (AVerMedia AVerTV Cardbus)
- Brandon (Verizon XV6700)
Congratulations! If all three of you can send me an email to robert[at]studenttabletpc[.]com, I’ll get the prizes out to you ASAP.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to enter the competition. As cliched as it may sound I wish everyone could have won the prize as it was such a difficult task picking only three winners out of that great bunch.

Congrats to GottaBeMobile’s new forums and contest
9 October 2006 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Contests/Give-aways, Websites
Just a quick shout-out to some of the Tablet PC world’s most active players over at GottaBeMobile.com. They recently opened up some great discussion forums to the community and they’re already rockin’. If you’ve missed TabletPCBuzz during that site’s downtime, I highly suggest taking a trot over to the new forums.
Also, I’m amazed at the contest they have going. They’re giving away an LS800 to the winner of their essay contest (800-1000 word essay on “how adding a Motion LS800 to your life will make you more mobile and enhance your personal and/or professional life”).
CONTEST: Design the new Student Tablet PC Header
12 May 2006 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Blog Related, Contests/Give-aways
You may have picked up from a past post that we’re planning on making a big move from MovableType to WordPress. You may also remember our move from TypePad to MovableType wasn’t exactly seamless ^^. This time we’re doing it right. It also helps that we’re doing it over the summer and we’ll actually have time to do it right. (This time we aren’t moving locations, and we’ll make sure the links still work).
4 Days Left in the NoteTalkers/MindManager Contest
11 May 2006 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Contests/Give-aways, Websites
I feel bad. For the longest time I thought the Notetalkers folks (the elusive AdminID and Sid) had fallen to a common blogger foe: The Real World. I didn’t see anything new in my RSS feeds (which is VERY cool having native in Outlook 12, by the way) so I thought there just hadn’t been any posts in a long time, except for the contest (which I heard about through e-mail).
I was looking up the specifics on the contest and just for the heck of it I copied the feed into Outlook just to make sure I had it.
Microsoft Future Pro Photographer Contest
5 May 2006 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Contests/Give-aways
This was a tip sent in by a reader (thanks!). The quoted text is apparently from photographer Tim Grey, but I can’t find the link (Walter, could you post the link you found it at in the comments?):
“I’m very excited to announce a new contest my team at Microsoft has just launched. The Microsoft Future Pro Photographer contest is aimed at college student photographers, with a grand prize that includes $20,000 cash and a digital prize package worth over $5,000. Besides an overall Grand Prize winner, there will also be individual winners in these categories: Nature & Landscape, People & Portraits, and Fine Art.”

180 day OneNote Trial for Students
6 October 2005 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Contests/Give-aways, News, OneNote, Software Info
I don’t know when this started, but I got a message through Facebook.com saying "Life is hectic enough…(yadda yadda)…Try OneNote!" So I clicked and found Microsoft is offering a semester long free trial to all registered students and teachers. It looks like it may be a pretty limited selection of schools though…
If your trial ran out, or you want to give it a try, now’s a good chance.
Check out the OneNote Student and Teacher site on microsoft.com for more OneNote info.
Win a Fujitsu Tablet PC
29 August 2005 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Contests/Give-aways, Low Budget Tablets
Play this little game on Fujitsu’s website for a chace to win a Fujitsu Tablet PC (or $50,000 home/office makeover).
I didn’t win anything, but good luck ^_^.
(I love Loren Heiny’s, "They had me at Tablet PC.")
