Google Alerts: Get the news you want
7 August 2007 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Websites
First, I’m busy finishing up my last internship with the company I plan on working for and they’re handing out full-time offers before the end of next week. That means these last couple weeks have been like finals that just don’t end and with a big ol’ jackpot at the end if I get an A on everything. Needless to say, my mind has not been really on the site.

But! I did find something that might help those looking for internships or jobs and want to know more about a company or topic.
Wikipedia+RoboForm is my Ace in the Hole

That’s right. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I love my Wikipedia.
In case you haven’t heard, Wikipedia is a free, easy to use, online encyclopedia that is user-edit-able (which is what a wiki is). Usually, a user run encyclopedia would be a bad thing (spam, faulty information, lack of information), but in this case it’s blossomed into a wonderful resource.
Two New (Tablet PC + Education) Websites
29 January 2007 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Websites
I’ve recently been alerted to two blogs related to education and technology.
The first is Teachers Using Technology, a new blog fronted by Ryan Betts who is a grad student and teacher planning to share “ways in which [educators] use technology to enhance their craft, and the educational experiences of their students.”
The second is Off Campus, a blog by Microsoft employee Michael Greene, a Windows Client Technology Solutions Professional for US Education. This one’s been up and chuggin’ since early 2006 so there’s already lots of great info to browse.
TabletPC2 has it’s list out!

Every year I love the Christmas list TabletPC2.com puts out. Cute, creative, and great stuff! If you’re looking for ideas for your own list, a gift for someone, or just an addition to your collection, it’s a great place to start!
There are Tablet PCs, Ultra Mobile PCs - UMPC’s, MP3 and DVD players. Home theatre Controllers, Speakers in Audio and Entertainment, Headsets, Digital Cameras and Printers. Digital Media, Everything Bluetooth innovations, i Pods, Bags and Cases, Storage, Software, Accessories and more.

BTW, StudentTabletPC turns two this Friday, Dec. 1st!!! I’ll be thinking of ideas of ways to celebrate, so check back later!
Congrats to GottaBeMobile’s new forums and contest
9 October 2006 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Contests/Give-aways, Websites
Just a quick shout-out to some of the Tablet PC world’s most active players over at GottaBeMobile.com. They recently opened up some great discussion forums to the community and they’re already rockin’. If you’ve missed TabletPCBuzz during that site’s downtime, I highly suggest taking a trot over to the new forums.
Also, I’m amazed at the contest they have going. They’re giving away an LS800 to the winner of their essay contest (800-1000 word essay on “how adding a Motion LS800 to your life will make you more mobile and enhance your personal and/or professional life”).
4 Days Left in the NoteTalkers/MindManager Contest
11 May 2006 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Contests/Give-aways, Websites
I feel bad. For the longest time I thought the Notetalkers folks (the elusive AdminID and Sid) had fallen to a common blogger foe: The Real World. I didn’t see anything new in my RSS feeds (which is VERY cool having native in Outlook 12, by the way) so I thought there just hadn’t been any posts in a long time, except for the contest (which I heard about through e-mail).
I was looking up the specifics on the contest and just for the heck of it I copied the feed into Outlook just to make sure I had it.
Jason Dorko’s been havin’ some fun
6 May 2006 Posted By: TracyPosted in: Tips / Tricks, Websites
Jason Dorko, of DorkoTech.com, has been publishing some neat articles and videos that I haven’t had a chance to spread thanks to a busy, busy schedule (classes are OVER! Now just exams).
He’s published articles on ResultsManager (here’a good one on setting it up), a MindManager accessory, covering student use of the plug-in. He’s also covering MindManager with several articles and even several video demos (”Dorko Demos“). He’s ALSO covering his experiences with a semester of eBooks, starting us off with a demo video of the ebook system he’s using (SafariX).
RememberTheMilk
15 April 2006 Posted By: AndrewPosted in: Websites
RememberTheMilk is another site that I use to keep up with school. Despite its rather odd name, RememberTheMilk is a great implementation of a to-do list that’s online. What’s so great about it? you ask. Let me tell you what I like about it.
Adding tasks is easy and you can file them under different sections. So I have a section for homework, a section for my work, a section for personal things, etc. What’s more is how easy it is to add a task. Thanks to the use of keyboard shortcuts, just press “t” (for “tasks”) and a new task field appears.
30Boxes
12 April 2006 Posted By: AndrewPosted in: Websites
Being the computer nerd/geek I am, I like to try all the new web services that come. I’ve been using 30Boxes for last few months and have found it to be excellent calendaring program that college students should just fall in love with.
30Boxes.com is an online calendar that is very simple to use and that’s why I like it. Did I mention that it is free?
